The Month of LOVE

The Month of LOVE

Happy February 1st, loves!!!

February is one of my favorite months because we get to focus on one of my favorite things…LOVE. Yes, yes, yes. I know that Valentine’s Day is a Hallmark holiday, but what better excuse to use as an opportunity to focus on one of the most positive and strongest things in existence?

“The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.” — Victor Hugo

Now, you could read this quote and think of it in a way that someone ELSE loves you, but what if you looked at it as loving yourself? Love yourself FOR ourselves…just as we are, flaws and all. Love yourself IN SPITE of yourself. Regardless of how damaged we believe we are, how imperfect we think we are. But you see, therein lies the question. When and where did we start believing that we’re imperfect or flawed? What made us think that we aren’t smart enough, or are waists aren’t small enough, or that we’re not good enough to achieve that?? I’ll tell you right now, it’s a mindset. And unless you change that mindset, you will stay stuck in one that you’ll continue to live day after day NOT believing in yourself, NOT being happy, NOT loving yourself.

I’m going to give you just a few of my tips to help you start making that mental shift to loving yourself more.

💖Take care of YOU.

With women and moms especially, it’s easy to want to take care of EVERYONE else first, but I’ll tell you right now, if you don’t fill your own cup, you’ll have NOTHING to give to anyone else.

💖Feed your mind.

When’s the last time you read a book just for fun? Or took a class just for you? So often, we get caught up in the every day routine of life that we forget to nourish our minds. Where does that leave us? Feeling stagnant and bored and shut off to the world around us. Make time to feed your mind.

💖Move your body.

I know a lot of my family here are instructors, so that may not be a challenge for you. But for those of you reading this who’ve let movement in your life slip, it is VITAL. Even if that means taking a 15 minute walk after dinner, do it. It will make a huge difference.

Now, if you’re reading this, and it resonated with you because you’re feeling like your “cup” is empty, don’t be afraid to leave me a comment below and say hi so I know you’re there!

And for anyone reading this who knows what I’m talking about here, what are some of the things that YOU do to fill YOUR cup?!

I hope this helps get your month started off right.

Love,

M
