Did you know that this is totally a thing?? We always hear jokes about the “middle age spread” that happens as we age. Well, it really is a real live phenomenon. Even those that have always seemed to be able to eat WHATEVER they want and not gain an ounce, it catches up with them eventually. As early as in your thirties, hormone levels begin to drop which cause muscle mass to start to decrease, which then slows our metabolism so we burn less energy and store more fat.
Have you noticed that your arms are more like wings compared to what they used to be? Are you having trouble seeing your toes when you look down at them? Are you pinching more from your waist than you used to be able to, and not a whole lot else has changed in terms of your habits? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you could’ve finally hit your middle age spread.
