So you may or may not know, but recently I started to teach and offer PiYo Classes online (If you didn’t know – you can check out Park Studios here!! Now that many fitness companies are embracing teaching online, I’ve put together a list of some of the essentials you need to TEACH online successfully.
Audio is really important when teaching virtually. I find using a Block Rocker, I can have great quality sound, and I can take it outside or to a studio and have a consistent reliable sound source.
Honestly, if you’re teaching in person or online, you should have your own microphone. There’s nothing more frustrating than crappy audio at the gym. This is my go-to quality wireless headset system.
If the other system is too big for you, this microphone goes over your ear and is a little more budget friendly. With either microphone, you’re set up for great audio to teach your class.
After having good audio – your next challenge is a stable video source at a good height… enter a long… flexible… floor standing tripod. This one’s my favorite!
Now this one is for the table, or for the Sun Salutations when you need to get your cell phone low!
There is something awesome about a round Yoga Mat which I just love, and well it’s my class, and so I’m using this classy circular wonder!
You know what I love about this Yoga Mat? It’s a towel and yoga mat combined, so no matter how sweaty you get, you’ll never lose your footing!
Ok so this is one of those extra things which makes the WORLD of difference, and while it might take a moment to set them up before you teach, you’ll love how they light you and make you feel so much more professional!
I hope you guys get good use out of this guide, and happy virtual teaching!!
Love,
Michele

Thanks so much for this Michele. I had to cancel a class due to weather today and am thinking this could be a good way to counteract issues such as this, so all tips definitely appreciated
